Fosston teen injured in two vehicle accident

A Fosston area teen was injured in a two vehicle accident Monday in Polk County. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Tanaya Nicole Howard, age 19, was injured when the vehicle in which she was a passenger pulled out in front of an oncoming vehicle in Columbia township.

The Minnesota State Patrol report said that Gabriel Michael Newland-Stiller, age 21 of Shevlin, stopped at the stop sign on southbound 393rd Avenue Southeast then pulled out onto Highway 2 in front of a Jeep driven by Evan Darrin Christianson, age 19 of Bagley. 

Howard was taken to Bagley Sanford Hospital and treated for injuries troopers at the scene described as non-life threatening. Newland-Stiller and Christianson suffered no apparent injury. All three were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident which was reported just after 5:00 pm. Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
