Free Rides To The Fargo VA
Veterans who need to travel to the VA facility in Fargo for health care can leave the driving to someone else. Norman County Veterans’ Service Officer John Rosenberger says there used to be a shuttle service running from Bemidji to Fargo that would run alternately on Wednesdays and Thursdays. But that shuttle will now run Monday through Friday, not counting holidays.
The shuttle rides are free for all veterans and a caregiver, if needed. The shuttle service begins at the National Guard Armory in Bemidji..and then stops in Solway in front of the bar, Shevlin in front of the bar, at the Bagley Cenex station on the west side of town, in Fosston at LaPiere’s on the east side of town, in Mahnomen on the north side of town and at the Ada Country Store.
Rosenberger says depending on when your appointment is scheduled, you could be in for a long day at the Fargo VA.
The number to call to reserve a spot on the van to the VA facility in Fargo is 1-855-277-9787. Call a few days in advance of your appointment to reserve your place.
The VA is also looking for volunteers to drive the van between Fargo and Bemidji. Call 218-209-1863 if you’re interested in volunteering.
