Georgetown Farmer’s Elevator Fire

PERLEY, MN—A driver on Highway 75 in Perley might have prevented a small fire from getting bigger. Around 6pm Thursday night, a driver saw smoke coming from the Georgetown Farmer’s Elevator and called law enforcement. 19 fire departments from Minnesota and North Dakota responded and the Minnesota State Patrol briefly closed Highway 75 while firefighters worked. The fire was quickly contained and fire crews from outside Norman County were sent home just before 8pm. No one was injured. An investigation by the State Fire Marshal is pending.
