Grand Forks County arrests 22 individuals during warrant blitz
The Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday afternoon that they have apprehended 22 individuals as a part of county wide warrant blitz that occurred on Tuesday.
This warrant blitz consisted of 20 law enforcement officers from the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Forks Police Department and Drug Task Force. A special court session for individuals arrested through the blitz have/are being scheduled to take place as well.
On top of the 22 arrests the Grand Forks County Sheriff Office says that many individuals with warrants reached out to the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office during the blitz to arrange a date to turn themselves in.
In the release the Sheriff’s Office said that they wanted to “notify wanted individuals that they do actively pursue individuals with warrants” and encourage people with warrants to contact their office if they would like to avoid a law enforcement encounter at their place of residence or employment.
The Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office say they currently have over 3,000 active warrants at this time.
