Halstad City Council Going Green

HALSTAD, MN—At Monday night’s monthly meeting, the Halstad City Council voted to join a statewide initiative to use green energy.  Halstad Mayor Darin Johnson talks about the Green Step Program.

And on the subject of energy, Johnson says work began Tuesday on solar projects in the City of Halstad.

Johnson says the buildings that will get the solar panels include the Landmark Center, plus other buildings owned by the City.

Also on Monday, the Halstad City Council set aside $30,000 towards the purchase of a new plow truck.  Johnson says after 25 years, parts of their truck have rusted out and can’t be repaired.
