Halstad City Council Raises Tax Levy

HALSTAD, MN—Last week, the Halstad City Council held its truth in taxation hearing.  Mayor Darin Johnson says the Council voted to raise the City’s tax levy five percent.

Johnson says there were a couple of people who attended the Halstad City Council meeting who weren’t happy with having to pay higher taxes.

Actually, last week’s truth in taxation hearing was adjourned before the levy for 2024 was approved.  So the Halstad City Council held a special meeting Monday to officially approve the five percent levy increase.
