Halstad Farmer Honored

A farmer from Halstad has been named one of America’s Best Young Farmers and Ranchers.  Rachel Arneson (front row, far right) was one of five farmers chosen by Minneapolis-based DTN and Progressive Farmer magazine.  

Arneson says her role as president of the Halstad Rescue Squad and dedication to community involvement played into receiving the honor, but also helps other farmers and members of the rural community.

Rachel will be assuming sole management of Arneson Farms next year, growing wheat, soybeans and sugar beets.  Her parents, Ray and Jacqueline, will be retiring–making Rachel the fifth generation to operate a farm that began 140 years ago.
