(Aitkin, MN) — The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced a delay in their Highway 169/210 Aitkin to Hassman project to Summer 2023 in order to access utility relocations along the corridor.
According to the MnDOT project page, major roadwork for the project will begin in Summer 2023. Motorists will encounter periodic lane closures through 2022 as crews prepare work areas along the corridor.
MnDOT will reconstruct the road and widen shoulders on Highway 169 from the Ripple River in Aitkin to the Mississippi River north of Hassman in Aitkin County. Repair or replacement of drainage infrastructure, reconstruct bridge drainage ditches, and improve road access will also be part of the major work for the project which will look for completion and wrap up in 2025.
