Hillsboro City Commission Meets
At Monday night’s meeting, the Hillsboro City Commission discussed making changes in its public works department. Hillsboro City Auditor Casey Eggermont explains.
Eggermont says the City hasn’t had any luck finding qualified applicants to fill the public works director position, so the Commission is putting the search on hold for now. Also at Monday’s meeting, the Hillsboro City Commission discussed bids for garbage pickup.
Eggermont says Hillsboro residents won’t see any change in garbage pickup because Waste Management already does that. Every five years, the City Commission seeks bids on these services to see if better values are out there.
And Hillsboro Utilities will get some help in case of a major power outage.
Also at Monday’s meeting, the Hillsboro City Commission set fees to cut grass on properties where the grass is severely long. It will cost $100 per person per hour…and then another $50 per half hour after that.
