Hillsboro Community Dives Deeper Into Pool Discussion

February 13, 2024 News -- KRJB-KRJM-KKCQ 0

Around 70 members of the Hillsboro community gathered in the Hillsboro Elementary cafeteria last night to dive deeper into discussion on a new public pool complex. Hillsboro Pool Committee members Paul Geray and Amber Podoll led an interactive presentation aimed at gathering more information for future planning.

Podoll was very pleased with the turnout and participation.

Podoll says it’s been a long journey to get to this point.

As part of the public input meeting, those in attendance got the opportunity to share their thoughts on the current pool and what they would like to see in a new pool complex. The majority of those surveyed at the meeting expressed a desire for a new pool, with the top four added amenities/programs being swimming lessons, slides, diving boards, and a splash pad. The committee discussed six possible locations all around the city and even extending outside city limits.

The committee plans on taking the information from last night’s meeting to help them determine their next steps. If you were unable to attend the meeting, and would like to offer your feedback, you can contact Geray at Paul’s Hometown Repair or email Podoll at amber.podoll@gmail.com.
