Hillsboro Fire Department Thankful for Public Support in Passing of Sales Tax
A 0.5% sales tax measure was on the ballot for residents in the Hillsboro city limits, and the measure passed with widespread support on Tuesday with 591 people voting in favor of the new tax, and just 185 voting against. Hillsboro Assistant Fire Chief Jake Rust and Secretary/Treasurer Steve Haffely say they are thankful for the public’s support in the measure.
Haffely and Rust also explain what the next steps in the project are, now that the project has been officially approved.
