Hillsboro Pool Committee Meeting Recap

The Hillsboro Pool Committee held a public meeting on Tuesday to answer questions about the planning process for a potential new pool in Hillsboro. Between 15-20 people attended the meeting, voicing questions about location and financing. One attendee asked about building on the current pool site. Hillsboro Pool Committee member Paul Geray shares the pros and cons to the idea.

There was also talk of using the location just south of the school, which will be discussed on Friday’s Hillsboro School Board meeting. Geray also mentions the committee will need to be better down the road at reaching the public to hear more opinions and know whether or not they have the support to continue the multi-million dollar project.

Geray says the plan to fund the projected $4 million project will come from multiple areas to spread out the burden of the cost.

The Hillsboro Pool Committee will continue to hold public meetings throughout the planning process with dates to be announced later.
