Hillsboro School Board News & Notes from February 9th Meeting
Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Thursday morning, February 9th where they continued facility planning, approved a new bus purchase, and more. The board accepted a proposal from School Perceptions to draft a community survey, which Hillsboro Superintendent Paula Suda says will be used to gather public perception on a building referendum, pending passage of the debt limit increase election.
The survey is tentatively scheduled to be sent out in mid to late April. The board would take the results of that survey to determine whether or not to move forward with a building referendum. That decision would be made this summer with an election in October of 2023.
Also at this month’s board meeting, the Hillsboro School Board approved purchasing a new bus, with some help from a grant, and purchasing another school vehicle.
And under staffing items, Superintendent Suda says they accepted the resignations of two staff members as well as a leave of absence.
The Hillsboro School Board also approved setting this year’s school board election for June 13th. Board members Tim Kozojed and Brooke Duval will be up for reelection.
