Hillsboro School Board News & Notes from May 12th Meeting
Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Thursday morning, May 12th. The meeting opened with presentations from the Speech and Close Up Groups on their recent activities. Then in their committee reports continued discussions on some proposed summer projects. Hillsboro Superintendent Paula Suda says they will be moving forward PA upgrades and a bathroom addition at that baseball fields.
Under staffing, the board also received a resignation letter from their transportation director, but because of how difficult it is to fill those transportation positions, Superintendent Suda says they were able convince him to stay on another year.
The Hillsboro School District has been testing a therapy dog this year under the supervision of Teacher Levi Reese. Suda says the board this week agreed to continue on with the service moving forward.
And the Hillsboro School recently announced the name for their new mascot with Champ being the chosen title. Suda talks about the process of choosing a name.
The next Hillsboro School Board meeting is set for Thursday, June 9th.
