Hillsboro Small Business Saturday

HILLSBORO, ND—It’s not an official holiday, but the Saturday after Thanksgiving has become known as Small Business Saturday—a day when shoppers are encouraged to visit local businesses for their Christmas shopping.  Jim Murphy, the executive director of the Traill County Economic Development Commission, tells us more.

Murphy says there are many activities planned for downtown Hillsboro on Saturday.

America’s 36 million small businesses represent 99 percent of all businesses in the country.  According to American Express, small business owners surveyed expect 20 percent of their annual revenue to come from sales on Small Business Saturday alone.
