Hunting safety reminders

It won’t be long until deer hunters will be out in the fields.  Clearwater County Sheriff Darin Halverson says before you go looking for that big buck, you should make sure it’s all right to hunt in a particular area.

Halverson says you should prepare properly in case you get lost.  And that starts with telling people where you’ll be going.

And here’s a reminder that Minnesota’s youth firearms deer season begins this Thursday, October 20 and runs through Sunday the 23rd.  Young people between the ages of 10 and 17 will be able to get a deer license.  An adult parent, guardian or mentor must accompany youth aged 10 to 13.
