iPods needed for nursing home residents for CRMC
Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Care Center Activities Department is seeking the donation of new or gently used iPods for its Music and Memory program in which staff make individual personalized music playlists for residents in need.
Music & Memory is a program that helps people in nursing homes and other care organizations who suffer from a wide range of cognitive and physical challenges to find renewed meaning and connection in their lives through the gift of personalized music. Music Therapy has been proven to bring patients suffering from the effects of dementia to a better place emotionally and cognitively. Even if for a brief time in their day, they’re able to escape to song to bring back memories of better times. A video about the program may be viewed at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FWn4JB2YLU
Those who wish to donate an iPod may contact the Care Center Activities Department at 218-546-700, ext. 4102, to arrange for drop off.
