Justice Margaret Chutich retiring from Minnesota Supreme Court
Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Margaret Chutich announced that she will be retiring on Tuesday. Chuitch has been has been serving as a justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court since 2016 and was appointed by former Governor Mark Dayton.
Chuitch is expected to retire at the end of the court’s 2023-24 term on July 31. Chuitch is the second Minnesota Justice to announce their retirement this month and comes days after Justice Barry Anderson announced his retirement. The Minnesota Supreme Court has seen a lot of Shuffling as of late as Karl Procaccini took his seat on the bench in October after the resignation of Chief Justice Lorie Skjerven Gildea. Justice Natalie Hudsun also assumed Justice Gildea’s Chief Justice Seat back in October.
Walz is expected to appoint two new justices later this year in the spring.
