K9 Onyx taking first Norman County Sheriff’s Office shift on Monday  

After a 15 week training period the Norman County Sheriff’s Office is introducing their newest member of the force today. K9 Onyx started training back in August with his handler Brett Fetting and they will be taking their first shift together as partners today. Deputy Fetting recaps the 15 week training period.

Fetting says that a lot of the training was focused on getting to know your K9 and Fetting told us a little about Onyx’s personality and what he’s learned about him.

Fetting says that K9 Onyx will be a massive asset to the Norman County Sheriff’s Department and the surrounding communities. 

Lastly Fetting took some time to thank the community for all the support they have shown when it came to the fundraising and training for K9 Onyx. 

K9 Onyx will now be accompanying Deputy Fetting on every shift moving forward.
