Keith Ellison collecting data on adolescent social media addiction 

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is asking for adolescents, young  people and parents to share their experiences with social media addiction. Ellison is looking for data from people because the State of Minnesota recently joined a multi-state lawsuit whose goal is to force Meta who’s the parent company of Instagram and Facebook to be more proactive when it comes to protecting younger consumers from social media addiction.

Steps such as making the default privacy setting as restrictive as possible and barring platforms from tracking adolescents’ interactions with those sites and apps are just some of the goals that this lawsuit is trying to achieve.
