Kittson County Anthrax Update
Here’s an update to a story R&J News told you on Friday. There’s been a confirmed case of anthrax in animals in Kittson County. A cow, a horse and multiple cattle have been affected. Dr. Katie Cornille, senior veterinarian for the Minnesota Board of Animal Health, explains how the animals got anthrax.
Cornille says anthrax in animals is not a threat to humans.
The last time there was a confirmed case of anthrax in Minnesota was in 2013 in a cow from Pennington County. The affected property in Kittson County has been quarantined.
