Kiwanis Food Shelf gearing up for Holidays 

November has officially arrived, and the Kiwanis Food Shelf in Hillsboro is gearing up for another busy holiday season. Food shelf representative Rich Gehrke says they will be having a special Thanksgiving food program for families in need. 

Many area foodshelves have seen an increase in usage due to the partial suspension of the SNAP program, but Gehrke says they have not seen a major increase in food shelf usage, but they are still accepting donations in anticipation of a potential increase. 

If you would like to make a food donation to the food shelf, Gehrke highlights some of the items they are most in need of. 

The Kiwanis Food Shelf is open on the first and third Monday of each month, but appointments can be made for food emergencies by calling 701-636-4360. The food shelf is located at the Hillsboro Armory.
