Lakewood Health to offer Dementia Caregiver Support Group

(Staples, MN) — Lakewood Health System will be offering a support group for caregivers of those with loved ones diagnosed with Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease on the first Wednesday of the month, with the first meeting taking place on June 1st.

In partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, the group is designed to provide emotional, education, and social support for those who care for a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Participants will develop coping methods and encouragement to help maintain their person, and their physical and emotional health, as well as optimally care for the person with dementia or Alzheimer’s.

Masks are required to be worn during the meeting to align with Lakewood’s current masking policy. The support group will be held the first Wednesday of the month from 11am-12pm in the Burlington room, located through Door C at Lakewood’s Senior Campus.
