Legislative Update: Representative Jim Joy

March 17, 2025 News -- KRJB-KRJM-KKCQ 0

Paid family leave has been a major topic discussed by the Minnesota House the last few weeks, as House Republicans have tried to delay the start of Minnesota’s Paid Family and Medical leave program by one year. There’s also a group of lawmakers trying to repeal the bill in its entirety, and that includes District 04B Representative Jim Joy. Representative Joy tells us why this is something that he feels needs to happen.

Joy also talked about some of his priorities for the rest of the session, and he said that getting Minnesota’s “fraud problem” under control is still a major priority for him.

Rep. Joy says another bill he’s been working on would lower the charitable gambling tax, which he tells us more about.
