The International Falls cross country teams were in Warroad Tuesday, competing against a strong field.
On the girls’ side, Lola Hall led the Broncos with a 5th-place finish, clocking in at 22 minutes, 44 seconds. Ila Hemstad was 11th, and Braelyn Domitrovich finished 13th. As a team, the Bronco girls placed 4th overall with 71 points.
For the boys, Camden Deedrick paced the Broncos with an 18th-place finish in 18 minutes, 53 seconds. Andrew Dale came in 22nd, and Sean Brubacher 24th. The Bronco boys finished 5th as a team with 100 points.
In junior high action, Corbin Chezick placed 27th and Cooper Sperry finished 31st for the boys.
The Broncos will be back in action later this month as their season continues.

The Broncos Girls Swim and Dive team will be in their home pool for the first time this season today against Chisholm. The teams will hop in the pool at 4:30pm to continue their win streak going.

In Littlefork, the Vikings Volleyball team faced LaPorte at home last night. The Littlefork-Big Falls Vikings earned a straight-sets victory at home over Laporte. The Vikings took the match by scores of 25-22, 25-23, and 25-17, sealing the win in three sets. They’ll be on the road Wednesday for their next game at Fond Du Lac Ojibwe.

The Rainy River Voyageurs Volleyball team kept their hot start rolling with a pair of road wins over the weekend.
On Friday night, the Voyageurs traveled to Grand Rapids to take on MNC–Itasca. They came away with a 3–1 victory, taking sets by scores of 25–16, 25–20, 20–25, and 25–20. Janne Ramakers led the way with 8 kills and a .471 hitting percentage, while Ninette Romero chipped in 9 kills and 4 service aces. Madison McClain was steady at the net with 9 kills of her own, helping Rainy River secure the win.
Then on Saturday, the Voyageurs swept Central Lakes on their home floor in Brainerd, 25–23, 25–22, and 25–22. McClain dominated again, hitting .458 with 11 kills, while Romero added 12 more kills and 13 digs. Evelyn Perkins set the tempo with 18 assists and 2 aces, and the Voyageurs defense tallied 63 digs as a team to close out the sweep.
After improving to 5–3 on the season, the Voyageurs will finally play in front of their home fans this Wednesday night. They host MNC–Mesabi Range at 6:30 in the Rainy River College Gymnasium.

It was the tale of two halves for the Vikings on Monday night in Chicago as they rallied for a stunning 27-24 win over the Bears at Soldier Field. The Bears had their way in the first half but only led 10-6 at the break. Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy was under fire in his N-F-L debut including throwing a pick six that was taken 74 yards by Nathan Wright in the third quarter to extend the Bears lead to 17-6. But McCarthy and the Vikings turned the tables from there scoring 21 consecutive fourth quarter points to seal the comeback. McCarthy finished the game with 143 yards passing and a pair of touchdowns plus he ran one in to ice the victory. The Vikings open up U.S. Bank Stadium next week when they host Atlanta on Sunday night football at 7:20 P-M.

The first week of the N-F-L season is in the books after the Vikings rallied for a 27-24 win over the Bears on Monday Night Football. Minnesota is tied atop the N-F-C North with Green Bay after the Packers destroyed the Lions in their home opener. The defending Super Bowl champions opened the season with a victory after the Eagles topped the Cowboys. Kansas City is the only team in the A-F-C West without a win after falling to the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo.

The Minnesota Lynx will play the final regular season road game of their schedule when they visit Indiana tonight to face the Fever. The 33-9 Lynx beat Golden State on Saturday night 78-72, while the 23-20 Fever beat Washington on Sunday 94-65. This is the final regular season game for the Fever, who have clinched a W-N-B-A postseason berth. Minnesota will have one final regular season game on Thursday when it hosts Golden State at the Target Center. The Lynx have locked up the top overall seed for the playoffs. Tonight’s game tips off at 6:30 P-M. Indiana star Caitlin Clark will not play this evening, as she is out for the rest of the year, including the playoffs.

The Twins put 10 straight runs on the board as they routed the Angels 12-3 on Monday night at Angel Stadium. L.A. jumped in front of the Twins 3-2 in the bottom of the second but Minnesota took over from there. Royce Lewis homered twice place James Outman added another in the sixth. Simeon Woods Richardson got the win and improved to 6-4. He lasted five innings giving up three runs on five hits while striking out six. Suddenly the Twins have won two straight but still sit 64-80 on the season. Game two of the three game series is tonight at 8:38 P-M from Anaheim.
