Mahnomen City Council Meets

MAHNOMEN, MN—At Monday night’s Mahnomen City Council meeting, the Council approved the purchase of nine disc golf baskets and signage for a new disc golf course in the city.  Mahnomen City Administrator Taylor Guenther says that’s part of a task order for the River Park project.

Guenther also gives an update on the bonding bill that was passed last month by the Minnesota Legislature…that includes money for renovations to the Mahnomen Hospital and Nursing Home.

Guenther says a project to remove ash trees in Mahnomen has been moved back a few months.  The Minnesota DNR has asked that the City not remove ash trees until after the Emerald Ash Borer flight season—that typically ends in September.  The ash trees will be removed so that emerald ash borers aren’t able to infiltrate the city’s ash trees.
