Mahnomen City Council Meets

MAHNOMEN, MN—A project to build two new homes in Mahnomen got the go-ahead after a public hearing at last Tuesday’s Mahnomen City Council meeting.  Mahnomen City Administrator Taylor Vonderharr talks about the public hearing.

The new homes will be built at 321 West Garfield and 524 West Garfield.  Those properties used to have abandoned trailers that were blighted.  The City of Mahnomen bought the land, demolished the trailers and cleaned up the area.  

Vonderharr also says the City received a $54,000 state grant at last week’s Council meeting.

The next Mahnomen City Council meeting is scheduled for July 17….after the Council earlier voted to cancel the July 3 meeting.
