Mahnomen City Council News & Notes from November 21st Meeting
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen City Council held their 2nd regular monthly meeting on Monday night, November 21st. At the meeting, the council approved the final draft on their new comprehensive plan which they’ve been working on for the past year. Mahnomen City Administrator Taylor Vonderharr says the comprehensive plan lays out a vision for the city moving forward all the way through the year 2050.

The City of Mahnomen also recently just received word that they were approved for a $600,000 Small Cities Development Program Grant, which they will use for streetscape improvements in the downtown area.
The Mahnomen City Council approved a quote from Gordon Construction to tear down a blighted home. Administrator Vonderharr says it’s their goal that a new home will eventually replace it.
And after some debate, the council also approved the renewal of the liquor license for Kings Corner.
The Mahnomen City Council meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month.
