Mahnomen City Council Recap
The City of Mahnomen held their September city council meeting last night, and it turned out to be a pretty eventful night. One of the first major agenda items was the preliminary tax levy. Mahnomen Mayor Julie Hanson breaks down the plan for the preliminary levy.
There was also a long discussion and debate about allowing the public use of cannabis within city limits and at the city owned municipal liquor store. Hanson recaps the discussion and what was decided.
The council ended the night with a lengthy discussion about the future of the city’s law enforcement contract and what potential plans or options might be moving forward. Hansen highlights this topic.
Some other miscellaneous agenda topics were the approval of a City Attorney contract with Levi Lebl and Mike Stauber, miscellaneous purchase agreements, vehicle and lawn nuisance hearings, and public comments.
