Mahnomen City Council Sets Preliminary Levy

MAHNOMEN, MN—At Monday’s Mahnomen City Council meeting, the Council approved its preliminary tax levy for 2025.  Mahnomen City Administrator Taylor Guenther has the news.

Guenther and Council members said they’d like the final levy to be around 5 to 6 percent.  That final levy will be determined in December.  Guenther says there is concern about the City going into a deficit.

Also on Monday, the Mahnomen City Council decided against spending $10,000 for mums to put in the street planters…saying the Council could better use that money elsewhere.
