Mahnomen County Attorney Placed On Unpaid Administrative Leave
Here’s an update to a story R&J News has been following. Last month, the Minnesota Supreme Court suspended Mahnomen County Attorney Julie Bruggeman indefinitely from practicing law with no right to petition for reinstatement for 90 days. In response, the Mahnomen County Board placed Bruggeman on unpaid administrative leave until further notice. She will be relieved of all duties. If Bruggeman has her law license reinstated, she will be restored to her full duties.
In the meantime, the Mahnomen County Board appointed Jason Hastings as Interim County Attorney. He is currently an Assistant County Attorney for Grant County…and you may remember he was Interim County Attorney in Norman County from August 2022 until January 2023.
