Mahnomen School Board News & Notes from August 8th Meeting
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Monday night, August 8th. With less than a month until the new school year starts, Mahnomen Superintendent Jeff Bisek reported that they are more than likely going to be short staffed as they struggle to fill the last few positions.
The good news is that before school starts, they should have all the renovations in the elementary wrapped up. Superintendent Bisek provided an update on the construction project.
The Mahnomen School Board also approved an E-Learning Plan, which allows them more flexibility when it comes to snow days this winter, according to Bisek.
And there were a number of staffing changes and updates this week as well. Bisek notes that they hired a new Community Education Director and hired some teaching and support staff.
The Mahnomen School District is still looking to hire for additional paraprofessionals as well. The Mahnomen School Board did also approve a contract with their bus drivers and held their final reading of the new smudging policy.
