Man Charged With Murder In Mentor Shooting

MENTOR, MN—A man has been booked on a murder charge in connection with a shooting early Sunday morning in Mentor.  The Polk County Sheriff’s Office was called about a shooting incident around 2:48am Sunday at 32300 110th Avenue in Mentor.  79-year-old Leslie Manford Anderson was arrested without incident and taken to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center in Crookston.  He has since been booked for first degree murder with intent while committing a felony.  The victim, 55-year-old Shawn Alan Qualley of Mentor, was taken to a Grand Forks hospital.  The Polk County Attorney’s Office tells R&J News this investigation is ongoing and they have no comment at this time.
