Man injured in accidental hunting related shooting near Park Rapids
A hunter who took a 10 year old deer hunting during Minnesota’s Youth Deer Hunt was shot by the child as the child was trying to unload a rifle near Park Rapids. The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office says the 50 year old man was shot through both buttocks. The 10 year old squeezed the trigger while the man was in the line of fire. The victim was first taken to Sanford Hospital in Bemidji and was later airlifted to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo because of the seriousness of his injuries. The shooting was reported Sunday morning.
