Mark Wedel to seek re-election for Aitkin County District 1

(Aitkin, MN) — District 1 Aitkin County Commissioner Mark Wedel announced that he will be seeking re-election to the Aitkin County Board of Commissioners, under the newly redistricted seat that includes the City of Aitkin and Aitkin Township.

In addition to his tenure on the Aitkin County Board, Wedel has also served 12 years a Aitkin Mayor, Aitkin City Council, 12 years on the Aitkin School Board, Chairman of the Aitkin County Alert for Child Abuse Committee, Chairman of the Aitkin County Cancer Crusade, and the Aitkin Municipal Airport Commission. He has also served 28 years on the Aitkin Fire Department, 8 years on the Minnesota Housing Finance Board and 4 years on the Minnesota Board of Teaching. 

Wedel is a Aitkin High School Graduate, Brainerd Community College (now Central Lakes College), and Mankato State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
