Mayville State Golf Team Involved In Road Accident
One golfer from the Mayville State University men’s and women’s golf team and two drivers were injured after an accident Friday afternoon in Burleigh County. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the van carrying the team was eastbound on I-94 at 5:45 pm and was preparing to pass a pickup truck in the right lane when the driver of the pickup truck went to make a U-turn by using a crossover in the median. The pickup truck hit the Mayville State van on the driver’s side. Both drivers were taken to a Bismarck hospital, as was one member of the Mayville State golf team. No names have been released. Six passengers were inside the van, all members of the Mayville State golf team. The golfers were coming home from a tournament at Valley City State University. Charges against the driver of the pickup truck are pending.
