Minnesota 3rd Grade Day
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has proclaimed Monday the official 3rd Grade Day….thanks to a third grader from Naytawaush. Back in January, Karen Wadena, a third grade student at Naytahwaush Community Charter School, saw fourth graders at her school celebrate National 4th Grade Day and wondered if there could be a 3rd Grade Day. While talking with a teacher, Karen got the idea to write a letter to the Minnesota Star Tribune to see if the Governor would accept Karen’s suggestion. Karen’s letter was published on February 3; the Governor saw it and officially proclaimed March 3 as 3rd Grade Day in Minnesota.
