Minnesota Budget Situation

Last week, Minnesota economic officials said the state would have a $2.4 billion surplus for the budget year that ends in June 2025.  State Senator Mark Johnson of East Grand Forks says he disagrees with that assessment and foresees a deficit by June 2025.  Johnson tells R&J News the State Legislature needs to take action to prevent a deficit.

The Minnesota Legislature reconvenes in February.
