Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to increase management on “Rough Fish” Species in Minnesota Rivers
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources announced that over the next few years they will be increasing the focus on the management of “Rough Fish” species in Minnesota Rivers after a surge of interest in the fishing of these species. Red River Fish Specialist for the Minnesota DNR Nicholas Kludt explains what these “rough fish” are.
Kludt says that there has been an increase in these native “rough fish” and he explains why the DNR has started to focus on management of these species and what this increase in management could entail.
Kludt says that they will also be working with local watershed districts to help improve river habitats that house these different species of fish, which he says will improve the fishing in these areas.
The full conversation with Kludt will be aired on 106.5 KRJB at a later date so stay tuned for more information on that in the coming days.
