Minnesota DNR Hunter Walking Trail Program
Fall is one of the most busy times of the year for Minnesota hunters as many different hunting seasons take place during this time of year, and one program that many hunters might not know about is the Hunter Walking Trail program that’s maintained by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Minnesota DNR Northwest Region Wildlife Manager Blaine Klemek explains this program.
With over 600 miles of trails throughout the Northwestern part of the state locating these trails without assistance can be difficult, but the Minnesota DNR does have some tools that can help you locate these trails.
Despite the name these trails aren’t strictly for hunters. Klemek explains some other ways that people can utilize these trails.
With many Minnesota hunting seasons going on at this time of year Klek did want to remind people about some safety measures they can take before going out on these hunting trails that can be heavily used this time of year.
