Minnesota House Republicans call for pro law enforcement legislation
A group of Minnesota House Republican Lawmakers called a press conference on Wednesday calling for the Minnesota House of Representatives and Senate to pass pro law enforcement legislation. District 30B Congressman and former law enforcement officer Paul Novotny was the first lawmaker to speak and he pushed three of his bills that included a bill legalizing the use of tracking devices on fleeing vehicles.
Representative Elliot Engen also pushed for one of his bills that would extend charges to individuals knowingly in a stolen vehicle, as a way to combat car jackings and thefts.
Representative Jim Nash pushed his bill that would force Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty to use the grand jury process in the case she’s bringing against Minnesota State Trooper Ryan Londregan.
Finally Representatives Jeff Witte pushed his bill which would lift restrictions on the way departments use public safety aid.
