Minnesota Legislature on Passover Break

April 17, 2025 News -- KRJB-KRJM-KKCQ 0

The Minnesota Legislature is currently on Passover Break, which means that the committee deadlines have passed. Senate Minority Leader Mark Johnson (R-East Grand Forks) tells us what this means for the legislative session moving forward.

Last week, R&J News told you about a series of DFL Sponsored Bills that aim to push back at the Trump Administration, and do things like recruit recently fired government employees to Minnesota. Senator Johnson gives his reaction to these bills.

Senator Johnson also preached the importance of state legislators ignoring all the “outside noise” coming from the federal level, and focusing on getting Minnesota’s state issues solved.

Speaking of state issues, Senator Johnson told us where his legislative priorities lay the remainder of the legislative session.

The Minnesota Legislature will reconvene on Monday, April 21.
