Minnesota State House Races
Looking at Minnesota’s State House races, East Grand Forks Mayor Steve Gander has won the seat in District 1B. The Republican defeated DFL candidate Mike Christopherson with 67 percent of the vote…to Christopherson’s 32 percent. Speaking live to R&J News following his victory, Gander credited the person he’s replacing as 1B Representative, Deb Kiel.
Gander was asked what his priority will be when he assumes office.
In other Minnesota House races in the area, Republican Matt Bliss was re-elected in House District 2B, defeating DFL challenger Michael Reyes 63 percent to 31 and a half percent.
And in District 4B, incumbent Republican Jim Joy was re-elected after defeating DFL challenger Thaddeus Laugisch 66 percent to 33 and a half percent.
