The Minnesota Supreme Court has set a date where they will hear arguments in a case brought by a group of Minnesota voters who aim to keep former president and likely Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump off the 2024 Minnesota Presidential Ballot.

This group led by  Former Minnesota Secretary of State Joan Growe and former Supreme Court Justice Paul Anderson filed a petition with the high court to ask that Trump be disqualified from running for office due to his role in the January 6 insurrection.

The Minnesota Republican Party has been granted by the court to intervene in the case. Minnesota Republican Party chair David Hann blasted the petition stating that “The Republican Party of Minnesota believes that voters in Minnesota should ultimately decide through voting which candidates are qualified to represent them in public office. The Minnesota Supreme Court should reject this fringe legal theory which is purposefully designed to prevent voters from having a voice in our elections.”

Trump remains the favorite to land the Republican Nominee in the 2024 election that’s set to take place in November 2024.
