MN Deer Fencing Bill

ST. PAUL, MN—Deer farmers and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources debated a House bill that would modify fencing requirements for deer farms. Republican Representative John Burkel of Badger is the bill’s author.

DNR officials say the current law has been effective, and eliminating the physical separation could lead to an increase of chronic wasting disease cases.  Burkel’s bill was laid over for possible inclusion in a future committee bill.
