MN Sen. Kupec Supports Plug-In Solar
ST. PAUL, MN—Minnesota State Senator Rob Kupec of Moorhead introduced a bill Monday that would allow Minnesotans to use plug-in solar devices of up to 1200 watts with their home or property. The DFLer said in a statement that “legalizing plug-in solar will let more Minnesotans harness solar energy opportunities by letting them use cheaper, smaller-scale, balcony-style solar panels in their own backyard.” Plug-in solar is popular in Germany, where it’s estimated four million households use it. Kupec’s bill will be considered by the Senate Energy, Utility, Environment and Climate Committee.
