MN Senator Johnson Reacts To Call For Special Session
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has called a special session of the State Legislature for this coming Monday, June 9. This special session is to pass a state budget before the July 1 deadline. Senate Minority Leader Mark Johnson of East Grand Forks reacts to the special session.
Johnson was asked if the special session might continue into the early hours of Tuesday.
The East Grand Forks Republican says there is a positive in the proposed budget.
Johnson says there are also parts of the budget that he calls “clunkers.”
The regular session ended two weeks ago, but Governor Tim Walz didn’t call for a special session until this past Friday. R&J News asked Senate Minority Leader Mark Johnson of East Grand Forks why it took so long to call the special session.
