Moorhead Brewers 6, Ada A’s 5
Despite a late rally, the Ada A’s four game winning streak came to an end Wednesday night as the Moorhead Brewers defeated the A’s 6-5 at Tony Sipe Field.
The A’s opened the scoring in the third inning on a Beau Fetting rbi single and added another run on an error. The A’s lead lasted until the fifth inning, when the Brewers scored four runs. Brayden Jacobson and David Ernst had rbi doubles, Parker Haim an rbi grounder and Marcus Wohl a sacrifice fly. Moorhead added single runs in the seventh and ninth innings to give the Brewers a 6-2 lead.
With two out in the bottom of the ninth, the A’s scored two runs on a double by Sunny Resnick and one more run on a Blake Fetting single. But the rally ended when Riley Resnick struck out to end the game.
David Ernst pitched five innings to get the win for the Brewers (12-3). He also had three hits in five at bats with a run scored and an rbi.
Riley Resnick took the loss for the A’s (11-7, 7-5 in League play). He pitched 4 ⅓ innings, allowed four hits, four runs (two earned), walked two, hit two and struck out seven.
The A’s return to action Sunday night when the host the Sabin Mets at Tony Sipe Field.
