Mother nature giving producers “a wild ride” this spring
Spreading, and fertilizing season is officially underway for growers across certain portions of the Red River Valley, but for some growers mother nature has taken them on a wild ride this spring. Mike Nelson of CHS West Central in Ada says some area producers have been able to get in the field, but some haven’t.
Growers across the area are also patiently waiting to get into their fields for planting, but Nelson says they are in need of more sunshine, so that the ground can warm up.
While some areas in agriculture deal with supply line issues, Nelson says they are lucky to have a strong supply of seed for the spring.
Nelson was a guest on the Farm and Field Show, which airs Wednesday afternoons on KRJB 106.5 FM.
