During Thursday’s regular monthly school board meeting, Hillsboro Superintendent, Jon Dryburgh, informed the board that long-time Hillsboro Elementary Administrative Assistant, Brenda Muller, was nominated for a state award. Muller was one of three finalists selected for North Dakota United’s Educational Support Professional of the Year.

Dryburgh says Muller, who is retiring at the end of the school year, is certainly deserving of the award.

In his report, Dryburgh also presented to the board an in-depth spreadsheet on the previous year’s expenditures and revenue. Dryburgh explains the spreadsheet.

You can view the full spreadsheet by visiting the school office. Dryburgh also shares some good news from the elementary on recent math and reading assessments.

Elementary Principal, Spencer Ruebke, also reported that three new students joined the school in the past week.

In other items, the board set the mill levy vote for Tuesday, April 22nd. If approved, the referendum would add twelve mills to the general fund, raising the mill levy from 70-82 mills, for the next ten years. Other approved action items included: two resignations, various spring coaching contracts, two open enrollment requests, and scheduling the next school board election for June 10th.
